April showers didn’t stop the VAC

If you missed the Visual Arts Club’s meeting this month due to the downpour, here’s a quick run down.  We were scheduled to hold officer elections, but no one was interested in stepping up (yet!) so we put that on the backburner for now.

Our current president, April, discussed an upcoming end-of-term field trip.  Since she has been President, she has organized an informative, artful and free (to members) lunch outing.  Past trips have taken us to Redux Contemporary Arts Center for an artist talk and lunch at Rutledge Cab Co; City Gallery at Waterfront Park with lunch at nearby Fleet Landing and Robert Lange Studios and lunch after at Minero.  All that and just in the past year.  With April graduating soon, we are looking to have someone take over her role and keep up the art+food tradition that she has created.

During the meeting, we did an online poll, and that was one of the Favorite Visual Arts Club events.  You can see below for some of the other responses.

We participated in a few other online polls, to discover more about our fellow VACers.  We discussed music:

We reminisced about our childhood:

and then we brought our attention back to the club, and what we like about the club!

Unfortunately, our arty, awesome, exciting, fun Visual Arts Club is losing its leadership!  Without officers, there can be no club, so if you have ever thought, ‘Hey! I can do that’ or even just ‘Hey!  We’re going to lose free art+lunch field trips if I don’t step up to the plate’ then think about running for office in the Fall.  If you have any questions, you can see any of the current officers (April Laroche, Sakhone Manning, or Andee Dunning), or Advisors (Scott Wallace & Tamala Leighfield/Building 500, Room 122) or check out the Visual Arts Club Officer Information link at the top of the page.

Until then, check your email for information on the Spring 2019 art+lunch field trip.
